The smell of listerine always reminds me of tattoo studios years ago.

It wasn’t just the smell of Listerine in the old tattoo studios.

Some used Lysol in the spray bottle and Coal Tar soap to wash their hands.

Terry’s tattoo studio back in the 1970’s had this distinctive smell.

Combine all these smells and you have the old time traditional tattoo studio smell.

Bill Skuse in Aldershot used to wipe all finished tattoos with TCP before covering them.

He had one of those old 1/3 pint small milk bottles full of TCP and a piece of cotton wool sticking out of the top.  So his studio always had the smell of TCP.

I’m using diluted Dettol for skin prep which you can’t help but smell of old school Tattoo studio.

I’ve been hearing of people using a bit of Listerine in the pigments to keep them flowing but not as skin prep any more.

Isn’t it a mouthwash?????????

IPA for our gloves, tips, grips and so on.
