It’s with much sadness that I have to let you know that Ian Frost of Croydon passed away on the morning of saturday 22 may after his battle against cancer. He will be missed by all those who knew him and had met him over the years, Always a friendly smile and not a bad word about anyone he kept himself busy doing what he loved most ....tattooing and tinkering with new ideas for his rotary machines,I had the great honour of working alongside him for the best part of 9 years when I started out,and learnt so much more than just tattooing from him.Another old timer gone along with all the stories of our past I will cherish them with pride and pass them on.

Another great gone - Oh yes Ian Frost was a real credit to tattooing - very friendly and kind…And I for one will always remember the times we chatted about tattooing history - His little shop and the beautiful rotary machines he made - But above it up all - I’ll never forget what a true gentleman he really was - RIP mate.

Very sad news.

Things are changing so fast in recent years, many of the old names no longer with us, soon there will be no people to meet and talk to, who remember the old days.

I used to pop into Ian’s studio over the years.
Very friendly fella and very generous with sharing tips and tricks of the trade.
I got my first rotary machine off him….

A true gentleman and he will be missed.

Ian did all my first tattoos in the mid ‘70s, and shaped my career from then on. Visited the shop a few years back when I was visiting London but it was a Sunday - I wish I had seen him again then.

RIP a true gentleman.

How very, very, sad.
Ian did my first Tattoo back in 1978, I have visited him many times since then, gradually adding to my collection.
He was always a happy smiling face.
I always said that I should go back again ” one last time”, now I can’t do that.
Ian may be gone, but his legacy lives on, think of all of his Eagles, Black Panthers, Roses, and Swallows, decorating thousands of arms around the World.
All begining life in that tiny shop in Windmill Road.
Rest in Peace Ian, God bless, Thanks Mate.
